Notepad covers for Swap

Today I thought I would share with you a couple of Notepad covers that I made up for an Aussie Swap...
Photo: Natural toned Shabby Chic feel Notepad Cover for a swap... :)

Usually when I make these sorts of swaps, I like to make 2 or 3 different types / styles, as I normally can never choose which one I want to create, so I create them all.. lol..

Lasting Memories - 216

Lasting Memories - # 216 -  Remember Someone Special

This week I'm super excited to bring to you my latest Canvas designed layout for this DT..
My oldest boy's teacher has just lost her Grandmother, so I asked for a photo and have decided to make this for her, for Christmas.. And I have to admit that it is quite hard having to hold onto it until Christmas, I'm so proud of how it turned out that I want to rush over and give it to the teacher now.. lol

There are so many details in this canvas that I thought it best to make the pic below as big as I can.. :)

Now time for some close ups from around the layout...
The little glass bottle highlights the colour of the necklace in the photo..

I used 3 Prima embellishment packets for this, 1x Prima flower packet, about 15 of the plain white flowers along the bottom.. The really cool "flower centre jewel" thingys.. Lots of super gorgeous clay embellishments that we sent to me in a swap and silver thread ribbon..

Plenty of Gesso on the base and the hessian style ribbon behind the photo...
So it's not exactly a cheap canvas, but it is definitely worth it! I love the finished product and truly hope that Lane's teacher will love it too!!

So please, do remember someone special this week and join us over at the Lasting Memories challenge blog with your layout too!
There are 4 challenges this month, all released on a Monday morning (very late Sunday night, here in Australia).. All the challenges are open for link up from their release post to the end of the month..

Scrap the Girls - November

G'day friends and family.. I'm happy to be back with you tonight in blog land..
Today I was quite busy making some swaps (that I'll share with you another time) and this great layout featuring a stunning photo of my gorgeous Cousin, Jackie..

I made this layout to enter into the Scrap The Girls challenge blog, November sketch challenge..

Although my desk is cleaned and tidied after each project, I thought I'd quickly share with you a "work in progress" photo.. lol..
The photo above is a good one to display that I've actually used a 6x8 photo under the 5x7 photo on top..
Righto, so I finally got some new photos printed and this is one that I have been wanting for awhile.. I knew this photo was going to get the mojo flowing, but then I had the problem of no paper doing this layout justice... I DON'T ever use my Fairy papers, but for this one, I just knew that they would be the only one's able to make this photo as glamorous as it deserves..

I have stuck as close to the sketch as I possibly could, by placing the flower in the bottom photo corner, adding these flags, keeping the title in the bottom left corner of photo, the embellishments on the top corner of the photo and by making sure the paper under the photo was cropped in..
However I did add some extra embellishments to truly make this photo and layout POP off the page and put my own spin on the challenge..
I titled this layout "Jack" as that is the nickname that I've called her since she was quite little..  :)
Thanks for letting me share this layout.. I'm totally in love with it and am so glad that I released the reigns on my pretties and actually used these papers.. It turned out better than what I had pictured in my head!  :)

Lasting Memories - 215

Lasting Memories  #215 - Use only ONE photo

I love to be a bit different.. So for this challenge I wanted to show you all how some FLOWERS,  PINK and a BUTTERFLY can be used to create an amazing BOY layout!!

This photo which is matted on both white and black cardstock highlights Mark and my two boys a few years ago at our wedding.. They are all wearing Black suits with Pink ties..
The base is matted on black cardstock then plain white cardstock with loads of texture paste, stamps and a mask..
The embellishments as you can see are the flowers, cogs and the bicycle...
There is no journaling or proper title on this layout, instead I combined these to the stamp in the top left corner.. Which is also a bit girly, but works! :)

Thanks for linking up last month! I was excited to see all the support that was shown for the challenges that I had chosen! Now we're onto some even more exciting challenge themes this month, so please make sure you keep an eye on the Lasting Memories challenge blog each week to see if one catches your interest.. You have until the end of the month to link any of the November challenges..

Lasting Memories - 214

We have just celebrated Halloween here in our Estate.. :)
Most of Australia don't take part of Halloween, but I've always thought it was fun and get very disappointed when I hear of any negativity from Aussie's on this tradition that has turned in to an experience that I think no child should have to miss out on!

Lasting Memories  #214 - Trick or Treat

Like normal, for my final choice of challenge theme this month I wanted to mix it up a bit..
For this challenge it can be loads of things!!! The theme is very open... How you may think?!!
TRICK or TREAT or HALLOWEEN themed.. :)

Yes, I would love to see someone playing a Trick.. Maybe you've got a mischief child or pet..
Or how about a special Treat... Maybe you took yourself on a retreat lately? Massage? Chocolate?
OR of course, you can upload a Halloween themed page to help you get into the Halloween spirit..

I chose to make a TREAT layout..

SOME OF A GIRL'S FAVOURITE THINGS

There isn't a whole lot that a girl likes more that Perfume and a Bling bracelet.. :)
These were the gifts given to the Bridesmaids at my best mates wedding last year..
I have wanted to scrap this photo for a long time, so this was made easy!

I layered the chipboard with blue and white cardstock. Then painted it with some Tim Holtz  White Crackle paint..
I included the colours of the bottles using the flowers, ribbon and fake pearl string beading..
Finished off the layout with the metal Owl and Blingsule..

Thank you very much for joining us at the Lasting Memories challenge blog this month! I truly hope that you've had a chance to get your layouts entered and linked up by the end of this week..
Don't forget that there are prizes up for grabs! So I'll be back next week with the names of the two winners.. Good luck and happy scrapping.. Toni..

Lasting Memories - 213

I'm back!!
Righto, I'm slowly getting the hang of Blogger, sort of! lol..

This evening I'm here to first wish my Mum a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow!
and a special Happy Birthday to my cousin Aleesha who's birthday it is today! :)

Lasting Memories  #213 - Lists Everywhere!
I have to admit that I am a fan of journaling on most layouts, so thought this would be a great idea to get some information onto the layouts.

I have titled this layout (hidden in the scroll) "My Sunshine 2.0" for two reasons.. I have two children, Hunter being my second.. And that he is definitely a unique child, so the list highlights some alternative words for his naughty nature..

The list for my layout is of ways that this grumpy little man shines and makes me proud of certain personality traits he has..

I would love to see what LIST you include on your layout for this challenge.. :)
Don't forget that you have until the end of the month to link up any of the October challenges at the Lasting Memories challenge blog.. There are two prizes up for grabs this month..
