THIS WEEK

#480 - White Space
* If you're anything like me, I struggle with the idea of true white space.
I would love to be reminded that we can create beautiful layouts with simplicity.

IN HIS ELEMENT

So I wanted to not only challenge you all, but also myself this month. I chose themes / ideas that would take me outside my comfort zone and I believe they will with most of you all too.

White space is something I always struggle with. Here I have used the left bottom quarter of the page and used a small part of the right side also. I haven't used any extra products like misting sprays, stamps, embossing or gesso like I normally would. I left this beautiful photo and Celebr8 papers feature the vastness of the page just like the vastness that is often associated with the red dirt country.

I am slowly becoming more acceptable to the idea of fussy cutting out the collectables on the 12x12 pages, but admit it is still something that I have to force myself to do.

This stunning photo of Hunter was taken during our trip to The Gemfields in September.
The location here is actually in the wash bay of the fossicking area at the farm stay we stayed at. So many amazing country vibes for photos!

Keeping the layout simple to capture the White Space feeling, I used only Celebr8 papers and some chipboard. Layering as much as I could and using the distressing tool around the edges of the paper to give some texture to the layout.

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, just grab a photo and leave plenty of White Space.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo
