White With One - Kelly Green

White..with 1

Ekk.. Another Green layout..
As many of you know, Green is one colour I cringe at and try not to use in my crafting unless I need to. So this layout was a challenge for me. Although I don't mind this green, it's kinda like the staple normal green you might find in a packet of texta's, crayons and pencils..

I love this sketch and was looking forward to working with it.. Don't forget though, you don't have to use it if you don't want to, it's your choice!

BE BRAVE
BE STRONG

I struggled a bit with the inspiration sketch, so decided to do my thing as I kinda already knew what I had wanted to do anyway... And guess what... It all came together perfectly as I had pictured.... YAY!

I started off with Colour Cuts designed by Alicia Redshaw at Scrapbook Fantasies and a Cut to You quote design... LOVE THESE!

This page was super easy to put together.. I used a couple of different Alcohol inks to splosh the background of the quote..   and then layered almost the whole packet of colour cuts..

I wanted to photo to stand on it's own a little better, as it was getting lost with the clusters.. So I matted it with a piece of grey cardstock.. Made a huge difference!

Even though this is a fairly flat page design, I still wanted to pop up some of the colour cuts to add that dimensional element look... So I just popped some foam tape behind a few of the pieces and added some clear bling drops..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the White With One challenge this month.
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry TO OUR FACEBOOK PAGE!

Your imagination is your only limit.. Just add a dash of colour to your white layout..
Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Lasting Memories - 516 - Flowers

DT Button

#516 -  Spring Flowers
Australia - September is Spring, it truly is the most beautiful time of the year in Australia. The wildlife, trees, and flowers are in abundance. I would like to see FLOWERS on your layouts this week. It can be embellishments, stamped images or on pattern paper.

*As an Australia DT member here at Lasting Memories, I am excited to share the very best of our Paradise land with you. Yes, if you turn the world upside down, we would be the right way up. It's finally time to pull back out the swimming togs and head back to the beach and watering holes, with flowers blooming and trees blowing in the wind it is picture perfect! *

MAGIC

This collection from Studio 73 was released earlier in the year and just fits this theme perfectly!
I am so in love with this layout, I think I've actually outdone myself yet again! lol..
The photos of my gorgeous niece and nephew honestly make the layouts one of my favourites, ever!!!

Honestly, I just can't stop looking at these little beauties!!
Even though it's a double layout, the pages work on their own as well if needed..

Anyway, I really didn't do too much to this layout other than the fussy cutting, twine and some gauze.. I wanted to keep it with a simplicity of clean with layers..

I actually created this layout during an online zoom crop with some friends in the USA.. It's a great time to craft together, share ideas and learn new things too..
I took the opportunity to do plenty of fussy cutting for this double layout..

I have been so excited being able to share my challenges with you so far this month!
As a DT we tend to take turns each month selecting challenges and as I mentioned earlier this month, September is MY MONTH....
I love to travel, but due to the restrictions and the truly bizarre situation we have ALL found ourselves in this year, I wanted to take a crafty trip around the world, so each week we are focusing on a different county..
#513 - Travel theme
#514 - Royal / Special person
#515 - Balanced White and Blue

Lasting Memories 515 - Ying Yang

DT Button

515 - Blue & White + balanced

In out trip around the world this week, we are focusing on a cool Asian custom in China...
The Chinese are well known for their Feng Shui. So this week we would love to see a layout that is balanced! Using the colours of the Chinese calendar - White and Blue.

*The Chinese year of the White Metal Rat has a main element of Water and is the "yang" and represents the beginning of a new day. The Chinese year colour Blue is for Trust, Honesty, and Loyalty. It increases the Immune Protection. It encourages us to open up with enthusiasm towards everything in life and make things wonderful around us, while at the same time helps us live in harmony.*

Sweet

Let's keep this one SWEET and SIMPLE..
Plenty of layers and balancing it out on either side..

These photos feature the daughter of my beautiful cousin.. After restrictions were lifted here in Queensland, I was able to head down to Gladstone for a weekend.. I was so lucky to have dinner with my cousin and her adorable little girl for a girls night... I loved it so much and can not express just how much I needed that time with them!!

I usually do "pretty" layouts when featuring this cheeky little lady, but thought the black and white photo captured some fun and thought I'd work great on this layout too..
I wanted to keep the blue soft and the embellishment elements minimal to capture the joy of the photos..

Lasting Memories 514 - Royal

DT Button

514 - Royal

UK - England and the UK are filled with history and traditions. The love and loyalty to their Royal Family are based on Faith and Culture. So this week I would like to challenge you with a throwback family theme. Something the symbolises History to you and your family.
Maybe it's the King / Queen in your life or the Prince / Princess that makes you smile every day. Or maybe there is a special family Matriarch that has pasted that you would like to remember and pay tribute to you.

Filled with love

Masterpiece

This layout features a photo of my Nan with her children..
My uncle on the left, my aunty in the middle and my Dad on the right..
A true Angel on Earth! I can not fault this woman... Although she has passed, I still think about her everyday.. And the emotions are still far too roar when I feel like I still need her! She was the blessing that kept us all together...

This beautiful Uniquely Creative  - English Boutique collection range suited to match in with this photo so perfectly, it's like the designers knew exactly what I wanted the range for.. lol
Using a white cardstock base, I layered and matted everything on a soft grey piece of cardstock..

I grabbed the cute leaf swirl that came with the range also and an old doily diecut they released a while ago too.. It all fit so well, I just couldn't go past it!

To finish it off, I made up clusters.. Yes, I know we are suppose to work in odd numbers, I don't always follow the rules...lol.. The super cool Sizzix wreath diecut that I got a couple months ago and now can't stop using! lol ..
Plus some Prima flowers, Kaiser flowers and 49 Market flowers + dots..

What do you think?

White With One - Mandarin

White..with 1

YAY Spring has finally hit ya'll!!
This means slightly warmer days and the most beautiful weather that central Qld has to offer and of course some of the most lovely citcus fruits you'll ever have.. We have so many Mandarin trees around here, that it was quite exciting to see this challenge when it was released to us as DT members..
We have an interesting mood board to use as inspiration also, I can't wait to see what you all do with this!

# favourite

Welcome back.... YAY September is my favourite month to get back outside and be a part of nature again.. So I wanted to share a page with you for this DT featuring my gorgeous boys at a stunning local fresh water hole in here in central Qld..

During the covid iso, I was watching loads of live streaming crafters and learning all sorts of techniques... I watched loads but didn't get to join in many as I really just enjoyed the relaxing experience of coming up with new ideas that I would probably never have time to use anyway.. lol ..

So finally, I was able to put some new ideas to use and have focused on creating my own background with some inks, blending brushes and stencils for this one..

The mandarin colour absolutely pops off the page and with the black, white and clear elements add to the eyes craving the colour without becoming overwhelmed..
There really isn't much else to this page. I added some die cuts and scribbles with the pens - that's about it... but wow, do I love this!! It actually turned out better than I had imagined... and as crafters, we know how rarely that happens.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Lasting Memories 513 - travel

DT Button

Lasting Memories 513 - travel

This month we would like to celebrate the wonders of the world and celebrate different cultures. So please come along each week and let us guide you on this journey.

To begin our challenges this month we will have an easy one. We want to see layering of words. Title + Sub Title + Journaling. Plus we would like to see the word TRAVEL within the Title or Sub Title.

When in doubt TRAVEL
Collect Memories, not things
plus there is journaling in the tag next to the title..

I am loving this "New Adventures" collection from Couture Creations...
It comes with a huge range of corresponding stamps and die cuts with it.. I think I bought one or two of everything with it was released in June... lol

This was actually a very easy layout to put together.. I don't have a heap to tell you about it..
I tore the top piece and middle piece, stuck to the base..
Fussy cut some flowers and cut out the dies, then layered with a bunch of ephemera already cut out..
The tag between the the photo and the title has journaling on it about the huge over 12 hour day of travelling (cars and planes) the day this photo was taken.. lol

Although my "TRAVEL" words aren't layered on top of each other, there are two titles and journaling included in this layout..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, we all have some travel photos laying around somewhere.. lol

Lasting Memories 512 - Special occasion (Christmas)

DT Button

512 - Christmas

Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa

Joy to the World

Righto..... This one..... man, did I love this one crafters!!
I really wish I could give you all a 3D view of this baby..

The photo was taken at the White Christmas evenings that the Movie World theme park hold each year.. My boys and I LOVED it!!  During an exclusive access dinner, we were able to have photos with loads of Christmas themed characters.. There is a "Fairy Land" section at the park for Christmas, so the Fairies came for a photo op visit too... Boy didn't I jump up quick for a photo.. I didn't even ask my kids if they wanted a photo too... nope nope, step aside, Mummies turn!!

\
The photos just don't do it justice!
The layers are something even I thought I had outdone myself with.. haha..
Truthfully though, I would have loved to have been able to make them higher.. I was careful and used restraint with how high they ended up..

Using papers from the Scrapboys - Winter Cotton collection, I actually cut a 12x12 piece almost in half and then stick it end to end in the middle.. So instead of the reindeer being on the bottom of the paper, it's now in the middle..
Then came lots of fussy cutting! A full sheet of frames was randomly placed under the photo.. plus half of the designed fussy cut sheet pieces were slipped between the layers to add the dimension.. Of course I couldn't go past that awesome new Uniquely Creative doily diecut that I recently picked up.. It cuts so perfectly!! darn thing to clean out though.. haha..
Finally some super cut washi strips finished it all off..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry..
