Lasting Memories 478 - Anything Goes

DT Button

Happy New Year!!
To end 2019 and begin 2020 we are having a final challenge to will being now and run into the new year..

LM #478 - Anything Goes

Of course I have just become obsessed with the amazing photos of the boys that we took during the September school holidays while on our trip to The Gemfields.. Sapphire gifted up so many stunning locations for country themed style pics... This is one of my favs.. It is Hunter along side of an old rusted ute and other things that had been dumped by the side of an off road. He is laughing here cause Lane is pulling funny faces behind me..

As I had mentioned in the last two DT posts for this month, I wanted to try to capture the art of working with paper layering a bit more.. I have cut out many of the shapes on the 12x12 die cute sheet and had such a great time playing with it all.

I used the celebr8 - Bold & Brave range.. I purchased the whole collection pack and am really loving being able to put these photos together using this range, as it gives a much more cohesive feel than I were to have made several layouts using different papers..

I choose not to add anything other than the bling dots to this layout and wanted to keep it all paper only.    I distressed & inked all the edges and tore the edges of the pattern paper that is over the top on the outside edges..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, so go crazy! Do whatever you want to do.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Hunter's First Christmas 2010

DT Button

Lasting Memories layout challenges this month are celebrating the Daily Holidays, Special & Wacky days.. We want christmas layouts based on a particular subject each challenge.. This challenge though is going to run for two weeks, as we all know how busy the Christmas weeks can be, so we reducing the amounts of challenges and will not release the next one until the end of the month to kick start off the new year..

LM #477 - Use an older photo of yourself and your family.

Hunter's First Christmas 2010

As I mentioned last week in the last DT release, this month I have decided to try to master Layering a bit better than what I have in the past. This one I kept pretty simple actually and didn't bother with over the top sort of layering like I have the others.. Especially next challenge in two weeks time, come back and check it out - IT IS OTT STUNNING!

Anyway, I love to use pastels and colours like pink, even though it is a layout featuring my boys.. I love the softness it can bring to a design.
First off I smeared white gesso on the base and sprayed with a blue mist. This just helps to give extra texture and element to a design to a boring background.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any photos of my with my family on Christmas day, so I used this one of my boys instead.. It is from back in 2010, so I'm sure it at least meets that criteria...
Hunter's first Christmas we spent in Agnes Water with family. It happen to be a year that it flooded and there was water all over the yard in any low areas. This little spot in the front was perfect for Lane to slip and slide in and Hunter to enjoy splashing while keeping safe on a body board.

I have really enjoyed being able to use up some very, very old Christmas papers over the past few weeks.. Amazing the stuff that you stash and then decide that "oh not, must not use that. Have to keep for a special project"  and then never use it anyway.
I vowed at the start of this year when I started crafting again after my long break, that this was no longer an option and in fact I want to use up the old stuff and use it just as much as anything new that comes into my craft room..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme.. Do you have an old Christmas photo laying around somewhere.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

TIS THE SEASON

DT Button
Welcome to December.. Please tell me I'm not the only one completely stunned by how fast the year has gone.

This month at Lasting Memories we are featuring Daily Holidays, Special & Wacky Days.. These are based in the USA and don't have much relevance to us in Australia, but the challenges are still easy enough for us to follow along and join in. So I really hope you all do! :)

LM #476 - Poinsetta   -  use the beautiful traditional flowers of Christmas on your layout.

LASTING MEMORIES LAYOUT CHALLENGES

TIS THE SEASON

This month you'll see a common theme within my layouts. I will be experimenting with laying paper under and around the photo. I have struggled with this in the past so am trying to master it a little better.   This layout features my beautiful baby boy Hunter on his first Christmas in 2010.. We were staying in Agnes Water with my family and had floods for days. Here, he is playing on a board in the yard what was water logged.. My older son Lane was slip and sliding along too. (That photo is on the layout for next week, so please come back and check then too!)

Being in Australia, finding Poinsetta paper isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. And let's be honest, I don't even know if this flower that I cut is is the correct one of not.. hahahaha..  But you get the point and the effect is the same..

I started out with some beautiful paper, not sure what collections they all are as they have been mixed and several different manufactures used. I have been in over drive lately making Christmas cards and other creations, it has been so much fun as it has been many years since I had bothered..

For the little cluster in the bottom corner with the cut outs, I added some leaves and twine..

As you can see - layers, layers, layers.....

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, we all have some  Christmas papers laying around somewhere with Poinsettas on it, right.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo
