VACTION TIME

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to do something special with some rub-ons. 

So I grabbed the 49 & Market - Beached collection and went to work.. 

I honestly fell down the rabbit hole with this layout and wanted to keep going and going... lol

The more the eyes wonder over this layout, the more you'll find.

To make sure the triangles are all the same size, I made myself a little template. 

3 1/4" x 4 rectangle piece of scrap. 

3 1/4 - tall

on the top edge, measure in 2" and place a pencil dot (center). 

Then cut from each bottom corner to the center dot on the top edge to create the triangle. 

Mark little dots / lines on the left side of the triangles and then remove. These are simple marker dots so you have a guide on where to place the rub-ons so they look like they are partly behind the pattern paper triangles. 

I really enjoyed the layering of the rub-ons.. However, I did make a little mistake - can you spot it? lol

To make sure I got the triangles laid straight across the layout, I used a T Ruler..

Use your scraps

A new addition to the How To series is some fun fold cards.

Today I am sharing a small Card In A Box that I recently made. They are so quick to throw together and measurements are easy, that you can put one together in less than 30min (not including any fussy cutting time 😆) This box has a base of 5x8.3/4 I usually make my boxes stand 6" tall with 2.5" panel sides. Which will begin with a base of 6x10.3/4" Of course using colour cuts or pre die cut ephemera pieces will also help to make it a quick project, as fussy cutting pieces can take quite a while.. 🤦‍♀️✂️ I have included measurements & basic instructions in the video & captions.. So please watch & read for more details. These boxes can be used for any theme or occasion. Simply style it to suit. They will also fold flat to fit into an envelope for postage if required. I used the Cocoa Vanilla - Daydream collection for this card. Keep an eye out for more in the "How To" series coming soon.. Another to share in my Scraplift layout series. This time using an very old collection Peppermint Kisses by Kasiercraft.. It is a Christmas based collection, so it made the trail of presents a fun little element for the scraplift design.

Today I am featuring another in my scraplift series.. 
Using a layout that I have previously designed for a class session, I now recreate it using a different collection so those playing along at home can join in the fun session too. 

Hopefully you get some sort of inspiration from this series. All layouts in the Scraplift series are designed to be a basic starting place for you. As a beginner, you may wish to finish your layout off with the design I'm sharing or if you are more advantaged and confident scrapper, then please add more to really make the layout pop with your own style.

Sharing another fun SHAPE focused layout. I recently made this one as part of the Shape online crop challenges that I joined (see Circles & Arrows layouts too)

This layout features scraps from the Mintay - Childhood collection and some Distress Oxide inks.

Adding plenty of stars with stencils, paper & chipboard, I loved flowing the colours together. Only a couple of fake layers & I clustered every corner of this photo mat design. I'm not very good at sticking to the general rule of "odds".. 😆 Hopefully you get some inspiration and see how easy a layout like this is and can use up some of your own scraps too.
