Christmas card mail-out

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This year, I was inspired by a fellow Sassy crafter Shannon to try something a bit new for card bases.. I loved it so much I'm actually going to give it a go with trying to adapt it to a Scrapbook layout too.. :)

Anyway, it's such a fun technique of cluster stamping in a sort of cross in the middle of your plain cardstock, then cutting that cardstock up into the 4 sections sized for the card toppers.
I got a little carried away and didn't exactly follow the concept of a cross though.. oops.. lol..

I actually ended up with 3 different stamp set designs (only two are included below, sorry)
I stamped with a solid Black, a Coral ink and Forrest green ink to coordinate best with the OUTBACK EVE collection - Kaisercraft. The added a little Gold ink for the stencil that matches with the gold glitter cardstock I added as a topper. I finished off the cards by inking all edges with a Golden Black ink so it wasn't as harsh as the stamped black images.

In total I made 24 of these cards... And most of them have found their way to the USA and one to the UK...

We would like to wish all of my crafting friends and family a very Merry Christmas, I hope you all have a lovely and wonderful day fill with great moments that will become memories cherished and a bright New Year coming ahead. Toni, Lane & Hunter.. xoxo

Double Easel cards - White Christmas

Christmas cards for teachers sorta just don't happen once the kids are in High School.. Which I find super sad and disappointing..
I always offer my boys to make some cards for any of the teachers that they want to gift something to.. Lane gave a couple and the teachers were always so appreciative..

This year, I was so glad that Hunter choose two of his teachers to gift a card and some scratchies to.

I used the Kaiser - White Christmas collection that was released only a couple months ago..

I decided on a double easel design with plenty of mats for layering and cluster embellishment on the larger panel for the topper feature..
Also put on a small Tim Holtz shaker dome for that extra cute element on the front smaller panel.
Inside the card is a pocket that holds the scratch-its..

Easel Scrapbooking layout

A few months ago while making an Easel card for a swap, I got an idea......... How about an Easel Scrapbook layout.......  This intrigued me so much that I got planning right away! It did take about a week for me to come up with the perfect way to attach the easel flappy bit to the base though seamlessly.. This was important to me.

It finally occured to me to use the long barcode strip that we usually just cut off cardstock or pattern paper before we use it. I simply scored it then glued the easel paper piece onto that.. It folds up and closed with ease... yay!!

Easel Scrapbooking Layout

I used a Kasiercraft collection for this and did use up a fair chunk of the papers and colour cuts within this design as I knew I bought the collection solely for this project purpose.
Something I really struggle is using up entire collections on one project unless I know at the time of purchase that that is the plan... lol

This can of course differ in design style with limitless options for flaps, pockets and photos.. I even added a shaker underneath the main front feature photo.

It would make a unique gift for a birthday, wedding, party for signatures or any other celebration as you could use this as home decor by putting it on display to admire..  (I have a Christmas Easel layout scheduled on this blog soon, so definitely keep your eye out for that)

GDT Uniquely Creative - Hello layout

During August I was lucky enough to be asked and featured as a GUEST DT member using their incredible Creative Kit - Among The Gum Trees

HELLO

As I bring this second week to a close with the final project to share with you of the projects from this kit, I thought it would be fun to have something a little different..

A white based layout with some coloured stencilling..

The photo mat sits on top of a leftover scrap pieces and plenty of fake layers.. I can tell you this mat is THICK! lol..
Some hessian for texture, fussy cuts and metal cuts for the clusters and colour cut word for the title.

GDT Uniquely Creative - You are amazing

During August I was lucky enough to be asked and featured as a GUEST DT member using their incredible Creative Kit - Among The Gum Trees

 You are amazing

This was one of the last layouts I put together with this kit, so it's made up mostly of scraps.
I started out with a stencilled base... I loved it, but at the time I wasn't feel it..
So I stopped, put it aside and came back to it about a week later.. Glad I did, cause so much creativity kit and was able to get pieces in the right place so much easier than normal.

Of course using the fake layers that I love so much for dimension, hessian for texture, chipboard and clusters to catch the eye with a sticker title..

GDT Uniquely Creative - Memories

During August I was lucky enough to be asked and featured as a GUEST DT member using their incredible Creative Kit - Among The Gum Trees

MEMORIES

Well, what can I say about this layout?? There is so much I honestly don't even know where to start..

Please watch the video above for all of the instructions and steps that I couldn't possibly get down on paper..

Although all of the photos here are mixed up, if you scroll you'll get a general idea of how it's put together with some shuffling.. lol .  SORRY..

I started off with a frame base and then placed another piece of pp over the middle for the major design element to feature on.
Three adorable photos of Hunter from the Gem Fields holiday a few years ago, sit on top of single layered circles.
The top layer of circles though are interactive, with four circles glued together to create a sort of flip / fan sort of element.

Using scraps after cutting out the circles, I used some strips as fake layers under the main center paper piece and the scraps from the blue papers to metal die cut the wire design..
Don't forget the random stencilling too.
