Magical Memories - Added Easel

* SCRAPLIFT   INVITE *

A few weeks ago I was so honoured to be allowed to promote this Magical Memories collection from Scrapbook Fantasies as part of their audition process for their Creative Team.
For me it has been the boost that I've needed to get out of the horrible hole I've been in and unable to go near my craft desk for the past year +..

Alicia, Quentin and the Redshaw have been friends for a long time and to feel the support from them at this tough time has been inspirational and heart warming. I hope that the support and promotion that I'm able to give now with their products is at the least a small part of paying them back for their kindness.

So now I would like to invite the incredible members of the Scrapbook Fantasies Creative Families group to Scraplift this layout design and share with us in the facebook group.
It's an easy and simple layout that anyone of any ability can put together using any of the exclusive collections by Alicia and Naomi-Jon.

This layout is one of many that I would love to share that has a special design technique element.
I love putting new ideas onto layouts and showing others that it can be done with some imagination.
I don't always get it right and quite often have to put quite a bit of thoughts into the logistics and measurements before I even begin.. Then I tend to get it wrong and have to wing it as I go along.. lol

Camel buddy

These photos capture my beautiful boys meeting and playing with a Camel calf a few years ago during our trip to the Gemfields. We were staying at a small caravan park called "Gemini", which happens to be right next to the Camel farm.

I started off with a kraft cardstock piece as the base. You can use anything for this, as it won't be seen underneath!
Using Magical Memories # 5 - cut it in half 6"x12" with the solid tan piece, then cut in half again 3"x12". These will be adhered to the top and bottom of the base layout piece.
Fussy cut the other side of Magical Memories # 5 for the embellishment cluster pieces.

Grab a couple of White Cardstock pieces for highlighting and photo mating pieces.
12"x6.5" - stick it down in the middle, making sure to go over the top of the solid tan strips.
Cut two 5"x6" photo mats
and one 5"x8" piece to be used for the easel. Score at 1" and 4.5"

Magical Memories 3 4 - Cut to layer on top of the middle white cardstock. 11.5"x6"

I had leftover scrap piece of solid tan from another layout that I used for the first photo mat on the left side, sandwiched with an off centre white mat and then photo on top.

The easel 1" piece will go under the white middle layer piece.
It will be lay over the top of the middle pattern paper layers. Fold creases.
Add the white photo mat to the bottom section of the easel and then the photo on top too.

Add the white journal piece and fussy cut clusters.
To finish it off, blend on some spots using the Blotchy Spots stencil.

Another very simple and basic layout that can be added to to create your own design.
This is one that I've already got plans to scraplift myself again.
If you would like to try out the idea, then please feel free to scraplift this yourself as well and share it in the Scrapbook Fantasies Creative Families facebook group.

Circle & Stars layout

Another challenge layout from the White With One cyber crop over the weekend.
Challenge 1 - use one colour plus two shapes.
So I chose an “Altantic” blue with Circles & Stars.

I can not believe the inspiration that smacked me in the face when I found a 10yr old packet of Heidi Swapp stars in my stash..
Then adding a fun blue & silver star pattern paper from Kaisercraft set this up perfectly.
I used Silver as the additional element to tie it all together (bit like how we normally use Black or White)…

Adding in the stencil circles on the base, punched out different size half circles on the blue pp and then diecut both white & silver circle bubble clusters for more flat dimensional texture. A very quick & easy layout that was actually quite a pleasure to put together and it flowed so well. Yay!

Shades of Brown

This past March Scrapbook Fantasies held a fun cyber crop with an Autumn theme..

Here is my project inspired by their Challenge 1 -
Shades of Brown

G'Day Mate

Featuring snippets from the Aussie Grunge collection and Scrapbook Fantasy chipboard..
It shares the memory of Hunter digging for Gems during our trip to Sapphire & Rubyvale a few years ago..
Plus plenty of little additions of mixed media items. (Ink, blending, smooching, fluff, glitter, crayon, stencilling)
It took many tries with different ideas to design this layout.. But I definitely had fun playing, destroying several cardstock pieces and then tossing it all..

I am loving the final outcome and every piece I have thrown out makes it worth it!

Construction safety first

Over at Scrapbook Fantasies, they held a January cyber crop to say “goodbye 2023”.. Definitely something I felt would assist me in moving in the right direction for 2024..

With help via zoom from the beautiful ladies in the USA, I managed to put together two basic but meaningful layouts.
This one was for challenge 4- use shades of one colour.
I choose the yellow colour that is featured in the pattern paper designed by Alicia Redshaw. Using the black & white as accents to highlight the layout design too.
The photos are of Hunter in 2016 marking out his safety zone with his toy dumb trucks..

It was so much fun putting this layout together using a twist on the grid pattern. The diagonal triangles placed in just the right position on each grid square set it out to be orange strips, similar to the "caution tape"..

The extra element of the grid stencil on the base white layout isn't as prominent in these photos, however very eye catching in person.

Dream Big - Boy + Girl layouts

Dream Big

These layouts were made for a local KIDS scrapbooking class I taught..
The design was super easy to adapt and change between a boy theme and girly theme using the same Kaisercraft collection..

Using the scrap leftover bits I was able to put together these adorable cards too.

GDT Uniquely Creative - Barn layout

During August I was lucky enough to be asked and featured as a GUEST DT member using their incredible Creative Kit - Among The Gum Trees

This barn based layout captures the unique picture designs on some of the papers in this collection. I have torn them out and layered together to piece a country barn scene.

Using photos of my oldest son Lane while we were on holidays a few years ago at the Gem Fields.
Plenty of chipboard, torn papers, coloured leaves, hessian and fussy cutting went into the process of this layout, as can be seen in the youtube video.

GDT Uniquely Creative - Awesome

During August I was lucky enough to be asked and featured as a GUEST DT member using their incredible Creative Kit - Among The Gum Trees

AWESOME

This off theme layout was created to capture the layers and dimension in the papers pattern designs.
Featuring a super hero photo of Hunter with colours that fly off the layout and turn this country collection into something unexpected..

Using plenty of goodies in this layout, including two of the same pattern paper, tool metal embellishments, metal die, title stickers and colour cuts.
