Easter Circles layout

My favourite time of year!

Using a fabulous PhotoPlay - Easter Blessings collection I have joined in a recent SHAPES virtual crop weekend. One of the challenges was to create a layout featuring a focus on circles and punches. 

So of course I jumped into action and started throwing this one together.. 

Even though I have a rough idea pictured in my head before starting, once I actually get creating quite a lot of it is simply winging it in real time.. 

There are plenty of punched circles of different sizes and stickers to effectively layer & cluster together..

After not being happy with my first layout, then pulling out all the layering & flowers for the second, I began the third layout going back to the original design idea that I had when I first saw this collection.

Simple Stories - Vintage Christmas layouts

When it arrived in store, the sticker sheet was the first thing I pulled from the box. I had an idea straight away. It was that sticker sheet with the hanging banner style designs that got me interested very quickly. 

So...... This first layout here is the one I had in my head from that moment. Since I had a struggle moment with the other layout, one I got this one to a place of being simple but cute - I left it alone & didn't add anything else... lol. 

Once it was done, it was done.. 
 

The 4th layout from this collection was another 30min layout thrown together to use up the rest of the sticker sheet and some scraps..

Up next is something that happens to everyone. A layout I just couldn't like.

Simple Stories - Vintage Christmas (part 1)

No matter what I was thinking of adding or doing to it, I just couldn't feel it. 

So I put it down and moved onto the next project. 

Thankfully Candy had given me some great advice and I'll add that to the layout soon, but for now I thought it important to share the struggle too... 

The second layout is the one I went to afterwards, it lead me back on the path of my original vision and definitely started to enjoy the collection that I have been waiting for months to have a play with.

Scrap & Me pink layout

November Retreat projects - PART 1

I'm starting off with this one because it definitely caused a stir...

This layout is all about the curves and layers. Working with a beautiful Scrap & Me collection and some bling shimmer paper, nothing could go wrong!

There were several people that took photos or asked for a kit from this layout.

I honestly couldn't believe that other crafters really genuinely were that interested in my designs to want to recreate them. 

I still become a little shocked when such support comes from other very talented scrappers! 

This layout was actually put together with scraps after another project. lol. 

I used a Scrap & Me collection. 
(not sure which one. will have to figure it out for ya'll. sorry

OH BOY layout

OH BOY

I created this layout last month for a fb challenge group..

The criteria was to follow a sketch and use up scraps..

It features a special photo of my oldest son a few years ago, just hanging out and jumping over the random railing.. Ya know, weird stuff teen boys do.. lol

These are the scraps I used from the "AWESOME" collection by Lady Pattern Paper..

It has such a fun pre/teen boy feel that I've certainly had fun each time I've played with this collection so far!

Even though it wasn't part of a the sketch, I added this stencil as an extra element to break up the harsh white cardstock base.

I do love this T Ruler!!!

I used it to keep my half inch strips nice and straight.. :)

The sketch also had a flag banner figure hanging across the top, but of course you know I'm not having everything perfect.. I'm truly so glad that I changed it up though, cause the strips turned out fantastic!
