Birthday batch cards

As I mentioned in my last post, I have recently re joined / re activated myself in one of the local Aussie card swap groups.

In the address list, there are also some birthdates attached. Not everyone, but majority of the group have their dates listed, so I thought it would be nice to send a little card to each member for their special day.

I know myself that cards are a now becoming a limited and sparce thing shared between loved ones. I also I know that as we are usually the one's that are doing the gifting, we tend to be forgotten.

So, with this in mind, I wanted to hopefully be able to spread a little smile when people that are not normally on the receiving end of the cards to get one in the mail.

Construction safety first

Over at Scrapbook Fantasies, they held a January cyber crop to say “goodbye 2023”.. Definitely something I felt would assist me in moving in the right direction for 2024..

With help via zoom from the beautiful ladies in the USA, I managed to put together two basic but meaningful layouts.
This one was for challenge 4- use shades of one colour.
I choose the yellow colour that is featured in the pattern paper designed by Alicia Redshaw. Using the black & white as accents to highlight the layout design too.
The photos are of Hunter in 2016 marking out his safety zone with his toy dumb trucks..

It was so much fun putting this layout together using a twist on the grid pattern. The diagonal triangles placed in just the right position on each grid square set it out to be orange strips, similar to the "caution tape"..

The extra element of the grid stencil on the base white layout isn't as prominent in these photos, however very eye catching in person.

Double Easel card - Mind Over Matter UC

Another fabulous Double Easel card.. Of course made for a swap..

Using the Uniquely Creative - Mind Over Matter collection..

I had an idea for an easel card for this swap, but didn't love it and then I had this picture pop up in my imagination featuring this collection and the gorgeous mushrooms..

Floral - Romantic Soul layout

A basic but cute layout put together using the Scrap Boys - Romantic Soul collection for an online challenge group.

We had to follow a sketch (which I adapted a little bit 😆) and use a Floral theme..

Although this one was a little hard to photograph as it looks quite one dimensional on the screen, but in real life the layers definitely pop and it's quite an eye catching layout with the busy background..

Christmas card mail-out

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This year, I was inspired by a fellow Sassy crafter Shannon to try something a bit new for card bases.. I loved it so much I'm actually going to give it a go with trying to adapt it to a Scrapbook layout too.. :)

Anyway, it's such a fun technique of cluster stamping in a sort of cross in the middle of your plain cardstock, then cutting that cardstock up into the 4 sections sized for the card toppers.
I got a little carried away and didn't exactly follow the concept of a cross though.. oops.. lol..

I actually ended up with 3 different stamp set designs (only two are included below, sorry)
I stamped with a solid Black, a Coral ink and Forrest green ink to coordinate best with the OUTBACK EVE collection - Kaisercraft. The added a little Gold ink for the stencil that matches with the gold glitter cardstock I added as a topper. I finished off the cards by inking all edges with a Golden Black ink so it wasn't as harsh as the stamped black images.

In total I made 24 of these cards... And most of them have found their way to the USA and one to the UK...

We would like to wish all of my crafting friends and family a very Merry Christmas, I hope you all have a lovely and wonderful day fill with great moments that will become memories cherished and a bright New Year coming ahead. Toni, Lane & Hunter.. xoxo

Double Easel cards - White Christmas

Christmas cards for teachers sorta just don't happen once the kids are in High School.. Which I find super sad and disappointing..
I always offer my boys to make some cards for any of the teachers that they want to gift something to.. Lane gave a couple and the teachers were always so appreciative..

This year, I was so glad that Hunter choose two of his teachers to gift a card and some scratchies to.

I used the Kaiser - White Christmas collection that was released only a couple months ago..

I decided on a double easel design with plenty of mats for layering and cluster embellishment on the larger panel for the topper feature..
Also put on a small Tim Holtz shaker dome for that extra cute element on the front smaller panel.
Inside the card is a pocket that holds the scratch-its..

Joy fold card with extra flips

For a recent swap we were given the freedom to choose a fun fold of our own to send to a partner.. One of my fav folds is actually a Joy Fold.. I wanted to change it up a bit extra, so added some flips to it too.

I am absolutely in love with how this turned out..

Box cards

With inspiration for an upcoming BOX CARD swap, I threw together a card (at the bottom) using the measurement specs in the criteria, but I really didn't like it much, so I made it smaller and adding extra boxes.. I'm definitely more happy with this one.

Using Kaiser - A Christmas Tale collection to create a card that I will be sending off to personally to beloved family members..

It folds flat to 5X7" for easy postage..

They are so easy to make, it is literally folding open ended boxes, then gluing them on top of each other..

First box card made for an upcoming swap..

3 mini swap pockets - simple stories vintage coastal

These super cute mini pockets were put together for a swap..

I used the Simple Stories - Vintage Coastal collection.

Although there were specs for the pockets, I added plenty of little cluster and elements to make these as much "my style" as I could..

I believe in creating something good enough that I would want to receive too.
Quite often for simple swaps like this, I add extra goodies as gifts to surprise my swap partner.. Things like acetate sheets layovers / bling / lollies / colour cuts packets / washi tape / dies / stencils..
