Born to Soar

Welcome back my crafty friends and family... It has been a few months since I have manage to capture the time to enter a challenge and over this past weekend I have got a few projects done, so please keep an eye on this blog or my facebook page to see all of the lastest.. :) 

Today I'm bringing to you an amazing challenge that I have been waiting very impatiently to get started on from Scrap The Girls.. 

I actually picked up the products for this challenge while I was in Brisbane about a week ago.. 

They are asking us to create a layout using "It's in my soul" them, with a BOHO feel and this mood board for inspiration.. As soon as I saw it, I knew what I wanted to do...

I can not even begin to explain how happy I am with this layout.. It came out exactly how I had pictured it in my head... (and for us crafters, we know just how rare that really is.. lol)

(as I definitely wouldn't have been able to pull it off..) 

I started off with a base and added Gold ink to a plastic sleeve, sprayed with water, spread it around and daubed it on to layer on more gold.. 

 

The paper collection I have used is Harmony from Mintay and some extra goodies from 49 Market in there too.. The big cut out is designed and cut by Scrapbook Fantasies.. 

 

For those that know me, know I hate fussy cutting!!! But the hours I spent last night on this layout was absolutely worth every minute!  It looks much better in real life than what the photos show. The layers on this are 3 and 4 deep.. 

The photo is matted on a simple brown piece of cardstock..
