One Sheet Wonder cards - Scrap It With Attitude

I have had my own craft room since I was 16yrs old... I am now 33..
I had been paper crafting long before then also..
But this is my first time I have ever completely a One Sheet Wonder like this..
I had so much fun and truly can't wait to make more!

I love pastel colours and feel for this piece of pattern paper the moment I saw it!
I used Pinterest for some inspiration on how to cut the sheet to get as much as out of it as I could. I left the bottom strip whole for now incase I need it for off-cuts.
But cause I wanted to do things a little differently, I decided to create some fun fold cards instead of just the basic 4x6 fold and open...
I actually ended up using every bit of this sheet!

EXPLORE

With some "Mum, why haven't you done any layouts lately" type of encouragement from Lane, I have captured the opportunity over this past weekend to get crafty!

Using some brilliant inspiration from the Sketchy Boards Challenge over on Facebook, I headed to my craft desk to get started in this awesome sketch and theme that is right up my alley..

EXPLORE

The first week of the school holidays we ventured out to The Gemfields.. When we were there I was able to talk the boys into taking some photos that turned out so amazing!

This was so much fun and we all quite enjoyed the fossicking for Sapphires..

Here are some of the photos of the process and close ups of the layout embellishment clusters..

Using the Celebr8 - Working Man paper collection and chipboard pieces, some Tim Holtx Distress Inks, Micro Beads, Leather twine, Dimensional Magic, Glitter and Memory Maze chipboard Cog Gears..

I really don't like fussy cutting, but it's definitely worth it to get clusters like this. I'm still learning to be comfortable with layers and ephemera, but the 12x12 sheet with cut ables really helps the process..

Thanks for dropping by today! I loved creating this layout and really hope you've enjoyed checking it out.. Please make sure you head on over to the Sketchy Boards challenge via Facebook and maybe create your own entry too..

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Lasting Memories 467 - Torn Edges

DT Button

*Welcome back Crafters... This month at the Lasting Memories LO challenge blog we are doing a "Mixed Bag" theme, which means we will basically be throwing all sorts of simple style themes that can be followed by every level of crafters!
This weeks challenge is to show off some TORN EDGES.

I knew that this challenge would work best with a photo of Lane.. And recently I had this one printed off of he and I, so thought it was best to use.. I love this photo of us at the movies and it matches with this paper so well.
First off, I started by simply tearing a hole in the middle of the paper and then tearing it outwards in sections to that it isn't a perfect shape.. I wanted it to be as rough and masculine as I could get it..
Using the Colour Blast "Aim High" paper collection, Kraft paper and plenty of Celeb8 chipboard that matched, I had so much fun putting this together..

Underneath, I matted the photo to kraft paper and to an off cut piece from this collection. You can see where I have fussy cut the cogs of the bottom and slipped the photo underneath it..
That was attached to a white cardstock for the base and then the pattern paper was glued on top. I decided to use wet glue instead of double sided tape as I would be able to move it around to make sure I had it all flush with the edges..
Using some of the off cut torn pieces and some more kraft paper I decided to add layering on the edges of the photo. This actually turned out way better than I had imagined it and am so glad that I did this extra step as it gives such dimension and effect!

I purposely chose not to colour of do anything to the chipboard as I wasn't to keep it raw.. I love the look and think it suits masculine pages so well.. Especially teenage boy photos..
Last bit was to add the metal embellishments at the top right of the photo..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for  the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, we are all capable of tearing a bit of paper.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

My Sapphires

With encouragements from my beautiful boys Lane and Hunter, I'm aiming to complete some layouts this month and of course it's best to get creating while the mojo is keen with the awesome fresh photos of the boys at The Gemfields during our trip in the school holidays.

This month at Let's Get Sketchy they have given us not only a sketch to use but also a mood board..
I took a few different effects from the mood board to create this layout including - the colour of the fox and the colours underneath it, the old door, the leaves above the fox too and of course the beads as the pebbles near the bottom left corner.

MY SAPPHIRES

This was so much fun and we all quite enjoyed the fossicking for Sapphires..

Here are some of the photos of the process and close ups of the layout embellishment clusters..

Using the Celebr8 - Bold & Brave collection, some Tim Holtx Distress Inks, mini Beads, twine, Dimensional Magic, Smooth misting spray and some buttons..

I really don't like fussy cutting, but it's definitely worth it to get clusters like this. I'm still learning to be comfortable with layers and ephemera, but the 12x12 sheet with cut ables really helps the process..

Even though I have complained a few times about my nails restricting me being able to poke brads through and lefting double sided tape almost impossible - they made it super easy to scoop up and add these mini beads to the layout clusters perfectly! LOVE!!!

hanks for dropping by today! I loved creating this layout and really hope you've enjoyed checking it out.. Please make sure you head on over to the Let's Get Sketchy challenge blog and maybe create your own entry too..
Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Gems In The Rough

Although I have been super busy crafting lately, I haven't had much chance to enter any challenges.. This month I'm hoping to change that and it starts with this amazing layout sketch from Scrap the Boys challenge blog.. I knew I loved this the moment I saw it.

Gems In The Rough

A few days ago Lane had asked me why I haven't done many layouts lately, so I took his hints and printed out some photos that we took out at The Gemfields during our holiday.. This was so much fun and we all quite enjoyed the fossicking for Sapphires..

Here are some of the photos of the process and close ups of the layout embellishment clusters..

To make sure I followed the sketch design and what looks like little splatter bits, I added some mist and stamps to the background.

Using the Celebr8 - Bold & Brave collection, some Tim Holtx Distress Inks, mini Beads, twine, Dimensional Magic, Smooth misting spray and some metal cogs..

Even though I have complained a few times about my nails restricting me being able to poke brads through and lefting double sided tape almost impossible - they made it super easy to scoop up and add these mini beads to the layout clusters perfectly! LOVE!!!
