Lasting Memories 512 - Special occasion (Christmas)

DT Button

512 - Christmas

Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa

Joy to the World

Righto..... This one..... man, did I love this one crafters!!
I really wish I could give you all a 3D view of this baby..

The photo was taken at the White Christmas evenings that the Movie World theme park hold each year.. My boys and I LOVED it!!  During an exclusive access dinner, we were able to have photos with loads of Christmas themed characters.. There is a "Fairy Land" section at the park for Christmas, so the Fairies came for a photo op visit too... Boy didn't I jump up quick for a photo.. I didn't even ask my kids if they wanted a photo too... nope nope, step aside, Mummies turn!!

\
The photos just don't do it justice!
The layers are something even I thought I had outdone myself with.. haha..
Truthfully though, I would have loved to have been able to make them higher.. I was careful and used restraint with how high they ended up..

Using papers from the Scrapboys - Winter Cotton collection, I actually cut a 12x12 piece almost in half and then stick it end to end in the middle.. So instead of the reindeer being on the bottom of the paper, it's now in the middle..
Then came lots of fussy cutting! A full sheet of frames was randomly placed under the photo.. plus half of the designed fussy cut sheet pieces were slipped between the layers to add the dimension.. Of course I couldn't go past that awesome new Uniquely Creative doily diecut that I recently picked up.. It cuts so perfectly!! darn thing to clean out though.. haha..
Finally some super cut washi strips finished it all off..

What do you think?

Loving YOU

I chose to scrap a photo from a tough event, special but tough.. The photo however is of my Mum with my boys, so wanted use the Mother's theme...

Using the Celebr8 - Letters to my love collection... I thought this would be the perfect range for this unique window layout design..

The embellishment cluster were put together with - Celebra8 chipboard pieces, fussy cuts, doilys, Prima & Kaiser flowers..

White With One - Lemon Bliss

White..with 1

We've had a sunshine shortage lately here in central Qld.. It's out, but darn it's still too cool for my likings.. lol  Glad that it starts to warm up again this month and we find our way knocking on the door for Spring..
So this month, we would love to challenge you to use a cool Lemon Bliss colour and of course the sketch too if you wish..

COOL

Such a FUN layout!
So bright and makes this photo pop..

Firstly I started off with some yellow misting spray, just to give the back a texture element to catch the eye behind the layers.. I dug into my stash to find this awesome yellow tissue paper, as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to use this as a featured base piece behind the photos.. Then a yellow & white stripped pocket in the back, holds my journal tag..
To add the layers and flow to the layout, I put down some stars and a couple of other embellishments to complete the look..  The scribbling though was just a stroke of genies on my behalf of course... haha... It didn't quite feel finished, but added that just gave me that "ahhhh yep done" feeling.. :)
