Lasting Memories 482 - Anything but a tradition 12x12

DT Button

# 482 - Anything but a traditional 12x12 layout.

* create an 8x11 / 8x8 / pocket page layout.

There are so man beautiful reasons to be happy

To finish off my month of challenges, I am featuring something that relates to my layout last week also. I am currently doing up a pocket flip album, but they are in all sorts of different sizes and designs. This one is 8x11" and again features the Kaiser - Miss Betty & Scrap Studio collections.

Doing albums like this give me the creativity to make each page it's own design but still keep it cohesive as all of the papers and elements are the same. The chipboard is from Celebr8. the leaves are old silver ones from Kaiser, plus some twine and washi tape. Quite a simple by effective layout.

I haven't added any extra elements of texture to this page other than what can see. I worked with mostly paper. The photo mat has torn edges over the top of it so the photo isn't quite as harsh on the page. The torn measuring tape strips give that eye catching difference that just wouldn't have been there without it.

So to finish off this month, I hope you have enjoyed the challenges that involved using a new tool / technique, white space, layout featuring yourself and now something non 12x12 traditional. Please remember you still have a few more days to create and upload your entries. Step outside your comfort zone or support others that have stepped outside their's by leaving them a little comment on their entries..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, whatever you like! Just make sure it isn't a traditional 12x12.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Lasting Memories 481 - Only You

DT Button

#481 - ONLY YOU

* we tend to scrap about others and forget to take photos of ourselves, so this week we want a photo and layout featuring just you. Don't forget to journal too, so the page tells a story.

HAPPINESS FOUND

Ooooo, what's a bet this one is gonna be hard for most of us to complete?!?!
Many of us scrappers don't have photos of just ourselves, so this is exactly the reason why I chose this challenge for this week. I want us to give a little bit of beauty to ourselves since we make sure lovely layouts featuring so many of our loved ones.

These photos were actually taken a year ago, on a photo shoot by the amazing Wade Aunger.
I wouldn't normally do something like this, but at that stage I needed something for something. AND I really wanted to make an album for myself too. I make so many cool boy themed pages, I wanted to finally make a set of layouts featuring girly and pretty things.

I have used Kaiser craft papers, Memory Maze chipboard, little collectables from my stash (I think are from the Reject shop) and tiny kaiser rose flowers.

This 12x12 layout will join our layouts and designs in a pocket flip album that I am doing up of myself atm. I made an awesome album featuring my boys 2018 forest / creek photos and will be finishing off their country photos into the same style of pocket flip album soon too.

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, so take a photo or find an old one that you love and scrap yourself.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Lasting Memories 480 - White Space

DT Button

This month at Lasting Memories, I am in charge of organising the challenges.. I hope that you like what we have been doing so far!
December 29th - #478 - Anything Goes
January 5th - #479 - Use a new tool, technique or product

THIS WEEK

#480 - White Space
* If you're anything like me, I struggle with the idea of true white space.
I would love to be reminded that we can create beautiful layouts with simplicity.

IN HIS ELEMENT

So I wanted to not only challenge you all, but also myself this month. I chose themes / ideas that would take me outside my comfort zone and I believe they will with most of you all too.

White space is something I always struggle with. Here I have used the left bottom quarter of the page and used a small part of the right side also. I haven't used any extra products like misting sprays, stamps, embossing or gesso like I normally would. I left this beautiful photo and Celebr8 papers feature the vastness of the page just like the vastness that is often associated with the red dirt country.

I am slowly becoming more acceptable to the idea of fussy cutting out the collectables on the 12x12 pages, but admit it is still something that I have to force myself to do.

This stunning photo of Hunter was taken during our trip to The Gemfields in September.
The location here is actually in the wash bay of the fossicking area at the farm stay we stayed at. So many amazing country vibes for photos!

Keeping the layout simple to capture the White Space feeling, I used only Celebr8 papers and some chipboard. Layering as much as I could and using the distressing tool around the edges of the paper to give some texture to the layout.

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, just grab a photo and leave plenty of White Space.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

White With One - Smoke in the air

White..with 1

It is with great excitement that I can finally announce that I have successfully been accepted into the White With One challenge blog Design Team as a creative member.. This year we are asking for you to link up any entries to our Facebook page please..

So to get my DT term started we kick it off the year with "Misty Mountains" and a mood board.. Just two months ago, we were fighting actual real fires right here in our town. The closest was only 2km away. We were safe although there was plenty of ash dropping and smoke in the air.
With this in mind, I wanted to use the light grey shade for the base of my layout but also throw in touches of the dark shade that smoke throws out too..

my 2 kings

I have been so excited to join this DT that I have jumped into this challenge full tilt.. lol

Plenty of stamping and paint swipes on the background..

I used the left over off cuts from a Memory Maze chipboard piece as embellishments.. Painted a deeper grey..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for the White With One challenge this month.
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry TO OUR FACEBOOK PAGE!

Your imagination is your only limit.. Just add a dash of grey to your white layout..
Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo
