Lasting Memories 472 - Stripes

DT Button

Lasting Memories Layout Challenges 472 -
This month we are focusing and challenging you all to USE YOUR PATTERN PAPER!!
This week's challenge is all about the STRIPES!

It's about the Stripes, about the Stripes, about the Stripes..

ok. I have to confess something followers.. I have no idea who made this striped paper as it is actually one of the very first pattern papers I ever got!!
Not joking, this paper is at least 17 years old and darn it still pops as bright as it did the day I got it! Whoa..

Using plenty of layers this layout is just one of those really pretty girlie pages... I left the layout blank of anything fussy or over the top.. This page really could be something for a beginner or for a little girl to do her own layout... It's easy tearing the first lot of pattern paper at the back. layers in top with some scraps that colours all match and just keep layering and layering..

I finished it off with only some circle punch & butterfly embellishments plus twine. Keep it simple!
I will actually probably end up taking my photo off and putting a photo on of a friends little girl for a gift..

What do you think?

Thank you very much for joining me today and I'm so excited to be able to share with you all the creations for  the Lasting Memories Design Team!
I really hope that you will drop by the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the team members and then get creative to link up your own entry.. There is plenty of options for this challenge theme, we all have some Striped paper laying around somewhere.. lol

Thanks again, Toni.. xoxo

Be yourself. Everybody else is already taken.

Hey Hey... Howdy crafters... Hope you're all well today and getting some crafty time! Thanks for stopping by today, I have another awesome layout that I made over the weekend during Fire Watch..
Today I'm sharing my entry into the Sketchy Boards Challenge facebook group.. I only found this group recently in the last few months and quite enjoyed creating the entry into last month, so thought I'd have another go since I feel in love with this sketch as soon as I saw it! :)

Be yourself.
Everybody else is already taken.

As you can probably guess from the amount of times I've used this Celebr8 range over the past month or so, I'm loving it with the photos of my boys from our trip to The Gemfields in September.. It fits the country masculine vibe..

Making sure there was plenty of blue features and highlights on this layout to cover that aspect of the challenge requirements, I used not only the paper but blue sparkle pen and blue ink..

and how cool are these toothpick flags! oh my gosh, I hadn't really thought of using this before, until I tried to use a skewer and it was too thick for the page.. Remembering I had some similar with Christmas things on them in the cupboard for cupcake toppers, I had a moment f brilliance.. hahahaha..

I generally don't like to share my journaling until after I have taken photos and uploaded them, but I will be journaling on this layout to the right of the photo on that mat there.

Hunter is so very much his own self... Such an incredible boy who is growing far too fast for my liking of course.. I am very grateful as his parent to know that this little rocket will never get lost and will hopefully always hold true to himself! It's such an extraordinary gift to him, he amazes me everyday!

Righto.... That's it from me today! Don't forget to head on over to the Sketchy Boards Challenge facebook page and check out the DT layouts and the other entries.. There are some really talented crafters on there! Happy Scrapping..

adventure

This was such a fun sketch to work with! I have use a cool photo of Hunter on top of a local mountain that is quite popular to climb for the fitness junkies around town.. lol

I have used the Kaiser  - Factory 42 paper pad and celebr8 chipboard pieces..
The colours I wanted to all match and flow while keeping a boy vibe in the layering..
I used the Sky Grey versa mini ink pad to lightly colour the chipboard pieces and some twine on the pull out journal tag..

Again, don't forget to drop on over to the Sketches in Thyme challenge blog.. Check out their sketches each week and hope to see one of your entries uploaded soon too! Thanks for stopping by crafting friends..

Tall, Dark & Handsome..

As we sit on Fire Watch, what better thing to do to past time than Scrapbooking.. lol

I have been lucky enough to get a few layouts done this past weekend and would love to share them with you.. Up now is my entry into the  Let's Get Sketchy  November challenge.. I LOVE this sketch! I love the idea of it as it can be put with anything! I decided to scrap some more of the photos taken of my boys from September out at The Gemfields..

Tall, Dark and Handsome

Righto, now I may be a little bias but I do believe my boys are pretty awesome.. They have been raised as the kids of a scrapper and are very used to standing for photos.. They are also very used to me taking some candid one's too on occasion.. lol..
I love this photo.. The boys and I had just finished and were packing up after a fossicking dig for gems.. We filled so many buckets and were getting a bit dirty.. lol

I have followed along with the sketch using Celebr8 - Bold and Brave collection papers and cut outs..   Sooooo much fussy cutting! Not as much as I have been doing with this range lately, but as always SO WORTH IT!

I also added some gesso to the bottom under the paper matting, but didn't like the look too much, so tried to even it out by putting some on the top too... EK it was even worse! I was quick enough to wipe it all off and actually am loving the little highlighted look that it left... :)

Make sure you drop by the  Let's Get Sketchy  challenge blog for yourself and hopefully get inspired by their DT to create your own layout and entry this month!

Dream - black & white

Welcome back crafting friends.. This weekend my community is experiencing some pretty bad bush fires. Alot of structures including homes and hundreds of properties have been destroyed. We are only a small coastal town, so this is going to affect us for a long time to come. It isn't over yet - we are on day 3 and the fires are just as bad but now it's also effecting the whole town! The wind has changed direction and the smoke is now blanketing the entire town. It's eerie and quite concerning..

But to make the most of this time while on Fire watch, I have been taking advantage at my craft desk.. I have made several layouts and would love to share the first one with you. It will be my entry into the White with One challenge blog this month - White with Black, plus being encouraged to add some texture or elements..

     NOVEMBER moodboard

dream

Just to get an idea how the smoke here atm, this paper is WHITE!!! The photo makes it looks almost yellow though because of the smoke...

Anyway, I really enjoyed making this layout.. I added the quick and small boarder by cutting half an inch off each side of the layout and sticking to the black cardstock.. Yes, I know that I could have just cut a inch off two sides and it would have been fine, but I actually didn't do this until last, so had to do all four sides.. haha.. I couldn't make my mind up whether I wanted the black boarder or not.. lol

The requirements of adding some extra elements or texture made this page fun! I wanted to throw everything at it, so I did. BUT VERY MINIMAL for each! A little bit of each stamp, a little bit each paper, a little bit of modelling paste, a little bit of misting spray...

The papers are from an older Kaiser collection - Black and White Timeless.. It suited this layout perfectly with the inspiration we have been challenged too..

I decided to add that little extra detail of distressing the edges of everything too plus adding some pen marks around the white paper base.. I love how this layout turned out, it's quite timeless..

Don't forget to drop on over to the White with One challenge blog and enter your own layout this month!
